Rolf Eiting is happy about the implementation of XOM eProcurement
C.E. Schneckenflügel specializes in the production of precision-manufactured screw blades tailored to the exact needs of its customers. The Company draws on more than 35 years of tradition and expertise. Nevertheless, the company sees digitization as an opportunity to optimize existing processes. In this interview, Managing Director Rolf Eiting tells us how he was able to reduce costs in his company and increase its efficiency with XOM eProcurement.
Hello Mr. Eiting, thank you for telling us about your experience with digital tools. How did you decide to digitize your processes?
Rolf Eiting: Five years ago, we decided that we didn't want to continue to run the company as it was then. We wanted to become more modern and innovative. But above all, we wanted to work more efficiently. That's why we came up with a strategy to digitize all areas of the company step by step and holistically.
Can you explain one of these steps?
Rolf Eiting: First of all, our ERP system was relaunched and adapted to the structures of our business processes. The ERP system enables automated information on how much material needs to be reordered, which allows us to ensure consistent material availability. Expensive spot purchases which were previously only noticed in the production process, can be avoided and this saves us money. As a next step, we wanted to digitize the entire procurement process.
And that's how you became aware of XOM eProcurement?
Rolf Eiting: Exactly, I read about XOM eProcurement on the Internet and contacted the team. The demonstration of the possibilities within the XOM eProcurement solution convinced us. We were particularly impressed by the structured and intuitive overview: all the quotes received from my suppliers are displayed next to one another which helps me to find the best suppliers for each request.
Were there any other advantages of XOM eProcurement that particularly convinced you?
Rolf Eiting: Yes, of course, the software has been further developed based on our feedback and our needs. There are many very specific functions within the tool, such as the renegotiation of prices. It is obvious that the developers of XOM eProcurement understand material purchasing and its specifics very well.
What has changed in your company as a result of the digitized processes?
Rolf Eiting: Our processes have become much more structured and faster. In contrast to classic mechanical engineering, there are no delivery times of months for the production of screw blades. Our goal was to reduce our delivery times from 10 to 14 days to one week - and we have achieved this.
That sounds really efficient, glad XOM eProcurement helped you achieve your goals. Thank you for this insight, Mr. Eiting!
